So What Makes Market Samurai Different?
As you are probably aware there are a number of keyword research tools available on the market with Keyword Elite 2.0 and Micro Niche Finder (MNF) being two of the better known programs. I haven’t used MNF but I have used the original Keyword Elite and I also have and use Keyword Elite 2.0, which I find to be an excellent program, but if I had to choose just one keyword research tool, then it would have to be Market Samurai, without a doubt. Want to know why? Well let’s have a look at each of the modules in turn and you will see why Market Samurai is such a great tool!
Market Samurai Keyword Research
Traffic is the key to any successful website, so it is imperative that you choose your keywords wisely in order to ensure your success – we want to target keywords that attract a lot of traffic and also have very little competition.
The first thing you need to do is enter a “seed” keyword and then hit Generate Keywords and Market Samurai will access Google and return a list of relevant keywords from Google Synonym Tool and/or Google Search Keywords. You can add your own keywords and/or remove keywords as well as filtering them.
Once you are happy with your keyword list then you need to click on Analyze Keywords and Market Samurai will provide you with an incredible amount of data on each keyword, such as searches or traffic, competition, commerciality and adwords value. You can then filter and arrange your keywords by these factors.
In the picture below I used “cot” as the seed word and came up with the keyword “cot furniture” with 595 daily searches for the exact term and only 35,300 competing websites.
Market Samurai Keyword Competition
Even though the direct competition is 35,300, many people will say that you are really only competing against the top 10 websites on the first page of Google. So the next step we need to take is to have a look at the competition for the term “cot furniture”.
Market Samurai will list out the top 10 web pages for your chosen keyword together with a number of SEO factors for each web page, such as domain age, PR, backlinks to the page, keyword in title and keyword in URL and more…
Each of the various SEO factors is colour coded for easy recognition – green is beatable, yellow for okay and red is difficult to compete against! So if a web page row is nearly all red, then it would be very difficult to displace.
You can also check where the page links are coming from and what anchor text they are using. If you find some good ones then you can try and get links from the same source as well.
As you can see from the image below, 8 of the websites have a PR of 0, 1 website a PR 4 and 1 website PR 1, plus 7 of the websites have 0 backlinks to their web page.
Market Samurai Rank Tracker
This is a great little tool that checks which pages on your website are ranked for your particular keywords and how many backlinks the pages have. This enables you to track how your web page is performing, is it rising, or is it falling – maybe you need to add more content or get more backlinks!
Market Samurai Find Content
This module enables you to easily find content based on your chosen keyword from selected article directories, blog sites, video and image sites and news sites. You can also check how many times an article has been republished, the PR of the page, the number of backlinks and the age of the article.
Market Samurai Monetization
Here you can search for affiliate products related to your keyword from sources such as Amazon, Clickbank, Commission Junction and PayDotCom. You can also design and construct your own banner ads for Adsense, Amazon, Clickbank and eBay by clicking on Generate Dynamic Ads.
Market Samurai Promotion
The promotion module allows you to quickly and easily search for backlink opportunities from selected Web 2.0 properties, blogs (including .edu and .gov blogs), and various forums.
Market Samurai Domains
I primarily use this module to search through the domain names that are expiring for god short catchy names with existing PR (page rank). I have managed to pick up PR 2 websites for under $20.00 and PR 3 websites for under $40.00. Expiring domains with PR4 will usually cost you more that $5000 these days.
Market Samurai Publish Content
This module will allow you to create your articles and post them directly to your WordPress blogs, which could be a very handy option, but to be honest, it isn’t a module that I am currently using.
Market Samurai Adwords
This is a brand new and as yet unreleased module, but if it lives up to the standards set by all the other modules then you can bet it will be worth waiting for!
